Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

The short version: you don't sign up and there are no advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics to see which pages and deals are useful, but only if you click "Accept"; if you don't, it never loads. Like almost every website, our hosting keeps basic technical logs, and if you email us we'll have your email. That's it.

Who we are

More Coffee (getmore.coffee) is run by Jacques van Wyngaard, an individual based in the United Kingdom. For this website, I'm the "controller" of your personal data under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What we collect, and why

WhatWhyLegal basis
Technical logs when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are recorded automatically by our hosting provider, Vercel. To deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems. Legitimate interests (running a working, secure website).
Font requests: our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when the page loads. Google Fonts doesn't set cookies. To show the site in its intended fonts. Legitimate interests.
Analytics, only if you accept: Google Analytics records the pages you view, roughly where you are (country or city, worked out from your IP address), your device and browser type, how you arrived, and which deals you click or copy. It uses cookies to recognise a returning browser. To understand which pages and offers are useful and improve the site, and to show roasters, in totals, how many visitors we send them. Your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.
Emails you send us: your email address, name if you give it, and whatever you write. To reply to you, for example about a listing, a correction or a partnership. Legitimate interests, or steps towards an agreement if you're a roaster.

We don't collect anything else. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comments and no payments on this site.

Cookies and analytics

The first time you visit, we ask whether you're happy for us to use Google Analytics. Nothing loads and no analytics cookies are set unless you click "Accept". If you click "Reject", or just ignore the question, the site works exactly the same.

NameSet byWhat it's forHow long
_gaGoogle Analytics (only if you accept)Tells apart one browser from another, so visits can be counted.2 years

gmc-consent (stored in your browser, not a cookie)More CoffeeRemembers whether you accepted or rejected, so we don't ask on every page. This is strictly necessary.Until you clear it

We've set Google Analytics up to collect as little as possible: Google signals (cross-device tracking) and advertising features are switched off, and the data isn't used for ads.

Changing your mind: use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw consent, analytics stops and we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

When you click through to a roaster, you're on their website and their privacy and cookie policies apply. The link includes utm_source=getmore.coffee so they can see the visit came from us; this doesn't identify you. If a link is an affiliate link, the roaster or affiliate network may set its own cookie to record the referral, under their policy.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it for marketing. We use a few service providers to run the site:

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, countries outside the UK, including the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards UK law allows, such as the UK's adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email hello@getmore.coffee and we'll reply within one month. Usually there's no charge.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

Information about roasters

The offers on this site come from roasters' public websites, and the roaster details we show (business name, town and website) are public business information. If you run a roastery and want anything changed or removed, email us.

Children

This website is meant for adults and isn't aimed at children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data, for example by adding a newsletter, we'll update this page and the date below before the change happens.
